TOEFL joins ISIC to fight youth unemployment in Spain
ISIC Talent is born through #StartOnMonday, a movement to make it easier for young people to enter the workforce
Madrid, (11 Dec. 2024) – TOEFL has announced its support as a Partner to the International Student Identity Card (ISIC) community in Spain to combat youth unemployment in the region. The initiative is part of the #StartOnMonday movement, which seeks to connect students with companies for internships and their first job through an innovative platform within the ISIC network.
Defined as a pledge, developed by the HR startup Kaatch, for job placement, the movement aims to help young people integrate effectively into the professional world. This initiative also has the support of the Spanish Association of Students of Economics and Business Studies (AEALCEE), the social platform U4Impact and the youth community Mutu as strategic partners. In addition, Jesús Torres, president of the Spanish Association of Human Resources Directors (AEDRH) and Sossy Vega, general manager of ISIC in Spain, were among the attendees.
The project was presented last Wednesday, November 27 at an event that brought together students, partners and educational institutions. During the event, the collaboration of key brands in the development of the project was highlighted, such as TOEFL, the leading academic English test for studying, working and living around the world. Accepted by more than 13,000 universities and institutions in over 160 countries, the TOEFL iBT English test is recognized by 100% of universities in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, as well as throughout Europe and Asia. Annie Romero, Regional Director for Southern & Western Europe, said: “At ETS, we are deeply committed to supporting young people and fostering their professional development. We firmly believe that the key to a better future lies in providing the necessary tools and opportunities for the next generation to develop professionally. The ISIC TALENT platform represents a terrific opportunity to connect with young, diverse and skilled talent.”
The launch of the #StartOnMonday movement was also supported by other brands partners of the ISIC network, who together with TOEFL joined the commitment to facilitate the employability of young Spaniards by sharing their job offers with the ISIC network or focusing efforts on attracting exclusive talent from the community.
