Italy: ETS's TOEFL iBT^® Certification Recognized by Ministry of Education and Merit

Milan, the 15th of January 2025

The decree, which certifies bodies for evaluating the language-communication skills of school personnel, was published on November 21 and is valid for the next three years.

Out of 56 applications submitted by 40 entities, only eight were accepted, with five specifically for the English language. This recognition underscores ETS's commitment to excellence in the global educational landscape.

"This accreditation is a real milestone for us," said Annie Romero, Regional Director Western & Southern Europe, ETS EMEA. "We are pleased that this confirmation reflects ETS's continued commitment to making the TOEFL iBT a certification of excellence in the global educational landscape."

The decree specifies the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) levels for the TOEFL iBT: B1 (42 to 71 points), B2 (72 to 94), C1 (95 to 113), and C2 (114 to 120).
